Seeing streaks or faded prints? Your drum unit may need replacing. This guide makes it straightforward, even if you've never done it before.
Before you begin: turn the machine off. Drums are light-sensitive — do not unpack the new unit until you have removed the old one. Only carry out this procedure if you are confident and have permission from your service provider.
Open the front door, then remove the waste toner bottle by pressing the two blue tabs on either side to release it.
Push the blue drum lever down on the colour unit you wish to replace.
Pull out the drum unit you wish to replace.
Insert the new drum unit until the orange plastic cover meets the machine. Do not fully slide it in yet.
Remove the orange plastic cover from the new drum unit.
Slide the new drum unit fully into place.
Flick the lock lever back up until it clicks into position.
Remove the laser glass cleaning rod from the front door (slide right to remove it).
Under each drum unit is a black slot — push the rod in pad-first, slide it forward and back about 3 times, then return it to the front door.
Once all drum units have been replaced and the laser glass has been cleaned, reinstall the waste toner box, close the front door, and switch the machine back on. The device will run a short calibration cycle before returning to ready mode.
No problem. If the issue continues after trying these steps, contact the TouchTec support team and we'll get you back up and running.
